Utah Scientific develops router interface for Miranda Kaleido-X multiviewer

Due to a new interface, the UTAH- 400 series router can now be tightly integrated with Miranda’s Kaleido-X multiviewer.

Utah Scientific is now offering a new option for its UTAH-400 router family that enables direct connection of the router's outputs to the Miranda Kaleido-X series of multi-image display processors.

With the ability to assign any source to any destination on the monitor wall transparently from the operator point of view, this interface provides increased flexibility and expandability.

The new interface leverages the MV-Link (Universal Multi-Viewer Link) protocol that is available as a Kaleido-X input option. A single 3Gb/s-capable MV-Link replaces eight individual coax cables with a single multicore cable to reduce the cost and complexity of connecting the outputs of the router to the inputs of the display processor.

The Kaleido-X system also offers a direct Ethernet connection to the Utah Scientific router’s control system, allowing the Kaleido to download router source labels for use in the multiviewer's under monitor displays (UMD) and giving the Kaleido-X the ability to send commands to the router to set up proper source assignments for a determined layout preset. The Kaleido-X on-screen mouse operation allows direct source assignment from the router via drop-down menus.

Miranda Technologies has collaborated with NVISION, Pro-Bel and Utah Scientific to establish the new MV-Link as a new interconnection standard between multiviewers and routers. The new option for the UTAH-400 router greatly simplifies the installation of monitor walls while reducing cost and easing operation.
