Winfried Schultz, Tektronix market development manager, sees strong interest in 3Gb/s broadcast infrastructure as European broadcasters transition to HD.

This week, Sound Off comes from IBC2008 in Amsterdam, where interest and activity in HD is running high.

Sound Off caught up with Winfried Schultz, Tektronix market development manager of video test business in the EMEA, at the company’s stand for a brief conversation about the rollout of HD across Europe. While European broadcasters share many similar concerns with U.S. broadcasters as they proceed with the HD rollout, there are many issues that are unique to Europe.

Given Tektronix’s role as a major video test and measurement provider with a strong presence in Europe, Schultz seemed well equipped to offer insight into the state of HD in Europe.

This week’s Sound Off interview is presented as an audio podcast. To listen to the podcast now, click here, or check out our podcast archive here.
