Digital video editing and compositing systems company 1 Beyond unveiled the GoFlex317 portable HD encoding solution for hardware-accelerated H.264.

The turnkey GoFlex317 HD encoder is based on the 1 Beyond GoFlex317 HD Quad-core laptop using Sorenson Squeeze 5 software together with the Sorenson Juiced encoder accelerator in a small, custom accessory box connected through a high-speed ExpressCard interface.

Encoding using the Sorenson Juiced hardware and software video encoding algorithms ensures that users get the highest quality encoded video output at accelerated encoding speeds ranging from 3X to 7X faster than traditional software-only solutions.
