CineVera Pictures puts JVC ProHD 100 to good use

Chad Terpstra and his Grand Rapids, MI-based cinematography company CineVera Pictures have had a good run during the past 14 months winning three awards at the Compass Academy 24-hour Film Festival for “A.R.T.I.F.A.C.T.” and being selected for the Independents’ Film Festival for “Lucky Day.” Both were shot with the JVC ProHD 100 Series camcorder.

Terpstra created the cinematography company to facilitate a higher level of production values for independent films. “Lucky Day,” shot during two days, was the first production the company completed with the ProHD 100 Series camera. Terpstra credits the ergonomics of the camera in helping with the short shoot. “Complex focus pulling was far easier with a manual lens,” he said.
Terpstra combines the ProHD 100 series camera with a Brevis35 adapter and Nikon lenses, which he credits with producing “a new level of excellence in HD video quality.”
