Prague-based CESNET has deployed HaiVision Systems' hai1000 H.264 MAKO-HD encoders/decoders for synchronous real-time HD video broadcasts over the backbone of CESNET, the Czech Republic's National Research and Education Network (NREN) operator.

Within HaiVision's flagship hai1000 series, the MAKO provides video at up to 1080p resolution with an end-to-end latency of 70ms. Delivered over IP, the MAKO's H.264 compressed video is interoperable with a wide range of appliances, software and systems from consumer-grade set-top boxes, to soft players and broadcast- and telco-grade video platforms.
