Gefen showcases HD fiber-optic extender
Apr 17, 2009 3:09 PM
At the NAB Show this week in Las Vegas, Gefen has introduced the DVI-1600HD fiber-optic cable for delivery of DVI video with digital (TOSlink, S/PDIF) and analog (L/R) audio and RS-232 control up to 1000ft.
The DVI-1600HD provides timely, reliable signal delivery supporting digital video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200.
Lower resolutions can be extended over the same system up to 6600ft, making the DVI-1600HD well suited for broadcasters and system integrators who must access computers stored in centralized locations. An RS-232 connection offers a convenient method of remote control that can be integrated with other A/V systems.
The Gefen DVI-1600HD operates through sender and receiver units connected to the computer and the extended display. Four-strand fiber-optic cabling connects local and remote locations.
