Harris features range on 3Gb/s support at NAB2008

Harris extended its 3Gb/s broadcast technology at NAB2008 with the introduction of its NEXIO AMP media platform, which supports 1080p HDTV.

The new version of the NEXIO AMP was one of several 3Gb/s rollouts from Harris at the convention. While 1080p remains an emerging standard, the expanded 3Gb/s support is intended to make it easy and affordable for broadcasters to upgrade their infrastructure. Most of the company’s 3Gb/s products are software-keyed to enable 3Gb/s performance.

Harris also showcased the NEO XHD-3903, an HDTV converter available with built-in 3Gb/s 1080p 50/59.94 processing and conversion capabilities. Harris also showed a new linear frame rate conversion technology for the XHD-3903.

The company also introduced a new 3Gb/s dual-input module for its Videotek VTM and TVM series of testing instruments. The 3 Gb/s module was demonstrated in three new products: the TVM-950-3GB multiformat signal analyzer with integral LCD; the VTM-4100 PKG-3 multiformat on-screen monitor; and the AVM-717-3GB self-contained test and measurement solution.
