This year’s Miss USA competition April 11 was broadcast in HD for the first time in the event’s 57-year history.
All Mobile Video’s Celebrity unit used Sony HDC series HD camcorders placed at several locations throughout the Planet Hollywood Theater for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, the venue for this year’s competition.
Sony’s HDW-F900R cameras were used for opening shots. In the two weeks leading up to the telecast, the camcorders were also used for prerecorded interviews and other segments that were rolled into the live telecast.
The Sony HDC series of HD camcorders is designed for use in live event broadcasts and other high-end content creation applications.
