The need to support HD programming services will contribute to solid, sustained incremental revenue growth for the satellite TV uplink industry worldwide, according to market research firm In-Stat.
Growth will continue pushing the value of the industry to $306 million through 2010, according to the researcher.
Recent In-Stat findings show:
- Satellite TV uplinks will upgrade their video equipment at a regular pace for many years to come;
- New technologies may slow down the need to launch new satellites, but HDTV will eventually force the issue;
- Strong opportunities will develop for the larger manufacturers of professional video equipment.
