The HDFEST 2004 World Tour concluded Dec. 5 at the Tribeca Grand Screen Theatre in New York City with the announcement of the winners of the 2004 HDFEST Deffie Awards.
HDFEST recognized a dozen winners with Deffie Awards for excellence and achievement in high-definition filmmaking.
Winners included:
- Best High-Definition Feature: “Particles of Truth”
- Best Directing in an HD Feature: “New Suit”
- Best Cinematography in an HD Feature: “Luminal”
- Best High-Definition Short: ”Happiness is at arm's length but sometimes you find it at the bottom of a sea of sadness”
- Best Directing in a High-Def Short: “Descent”
- Best Cinematography in a High-Def Short: “Oedipus”
- Best Visual/Special Effects in a High-Def Project: “Just Like You Imagined”
- Best High-Def Documentary: “Water's Journey- The Hidden Rivers of Florida”
- Best Cinematography in a High-Def Documentary: “Water's Journey- The Hidden Rivers of Florida”
- Best Comedic High-Def Short: “Killing Kevin”
- Best Dramatic High-Def Short: “The Bug Man”
- Best HD Animation “Rex Steele: Nazi Smasher”
