FOR-A introduces FRC-3000 HD frame rate converter

FOR-A is introducing the FRC-3000 HD frame rate converter this week at NAB2008.

The FRC-3000 was developed to meet demand for a frame rate converter at a price range suitable for smaller operations.

The compact, 1RU FRC-3000 frame rate converter retains many functions of the FRC-7000, including high-precision conversion using motion compensation technology and a scene-cut detection function.

Like the company’s FRC-7000, the FRC-3000 uses vector motion compensation processing to analyze and determine pixel movement in each frame. Both models feature scene-cut detection that automatically detects scene changes and turns off motion compensation processing.

FOR-A’s FRC-3000 features automatic text field detection, which recognizes scrolling text superimposed on video for optimal conversion and uncompromised character depiction.
