ITV to provide programming for BBC HD trial

ITV will work jointly with the BBC on a six-month technical trial of HDTV in London that will begin this summer.

ITV will provide some of the HD programming for the test. About 500 volunteers in London will receive the HD trial transmissions, giving the BBC the opportunity to evaluate the performance of digital terrestrial transmission of high definition and the technology involved.
