JVC unveils high-density D-ILA device

JVC previewed a high pixel-density projection chip at InfoComm 2007 in Anaheim last week that will enable future 4K2K projectors to be smaller, lighter and more affordable.

The newly developed 1.27in 4K2K D-ILA device chip expands on technologies used in the DLA-HD10/RS1 D-ILA Reference Series home cinema projectors that deliver a 15,000:1 native contrast ratio.

The 4K2K D-ILA device offers 4096 x 2400 pixels — about 10 megapixels — and a 20,000:1 contrast ratio.
