Thomson will acquire the Thales Broadcast & Multimedia business unit and form a strategic partnership with TBM parent company Thales.
Thales Broadcast & Multimedia provides platforms for IPTV services, video-on-demand and mobile TV. It designs digital TV and radio broadcasting systems and equipment. By combining the TBM activities with Thomson's existing Systems & Equipment offerings, Thomson will offer end-to-end products and services for those in the IPTV, mobile TV and digital terrestrial transmission markets.
The strategic partnership with Thales will focus its efforts on providing high-value video content management and distribution solutions for in-flight entertainment, security and defense applications.
