TiVo has begun offering HD movies and TV shows from Amazon.com via broadband connection directly to the home television for its subscribers with a broadband connection and a Series3 TiVO HD or TiVO HD XL, the company said April 21.

Hundreds of HD movies and TV shows will be available for purchase at $2.99. Top new releases will be priced at $3.99 to $4.99. Most titles will be available with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. TiVo Search, which is optimized for HDTVs with a widescreen display, will include HD results from Amazon along with broadcast and cable programs when a user performs a search.
