Toshiba last week lowered its 2007 HD-DVD player sales projections for the North American market from 1.8 million to 1 million because of slower than expected sales.
The North American HD-DVD Promotional Group reported, however, that three weeks into an aggressive retail and marketing campaign, sales of HD-DVD players in the dedicated consumer electronics player market made up 60 percent of all HD set-top players sold.
