WEGENER will feature the Unity 550-2 enterprise media receiver as part of a larger system for HD, IPTV and file-based workflows at SATCON at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City Oct. 10-11.
The Unity 550-2 includes MPEG-4/H.264 video coding for SD, HD and DVB-S2 modulation. These new technologies, when integrated with WEGENER’s COMPEL network control system allow private networks to lower operational costs. The Unity 550-2 can stream to additional WEGENER IPTV decoders that are addressable over existing internal IP networks.
Network operators can achieve 40 percent to 70 percent greater signal compression using MPEG-4/H.264 video compression and DVB-S2 modulation compared to using MPEG-2 video compression and DVB-S satellite modulation.
