EarthCam’s live video power’s Times Square signage

Canon’s network controllable pan-tilt-zoom cameras are used in many EarthCam locations.

EarthCam cameras provide live video over IP for locations ranging from construction sites and highway traffic to foreign tourist attractions and Times Square billboards.

For many of its installations, EarthCam uses Canon’s NU-700N, a network controllable pan/tilt/zoom camera. Four NU-700N’s are deployed in New York’s Times Square to feed live content to digital billboards and EarthCam’s Internet viewers.

EarthCam also enables its customers to control camera functions (including camera pan, tilt, zoom, and focus) from anywhere with network access. It integrates the cameras into its proprietary Webcasting software and hardware system known as MediaCaster, which encodes broadcast-quality video and streams it over the Internet.
