At the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2005, Scopus will display its end-to-end solution for digital simulcast featuring real-time encoding, grooming, rate shaping, edge decoding, and network management.

Based on the Scopus E-1200 real-time encoder, the Scopus closed loop statistical multiplexing system provides high quality video at low bit rates. The E-1200 utilizes Scopus' TriplePass mechanism providing pre-processing, dual-pass encoding, and statistical multiplexing. The pre-processing mechanism is based on Perceptive View, which uses human visual perception threshold modeling.

The Scopus UE-9100 universal encoder series is a multichannel encoding platform housed in a compact 1RU chassis. The UE-9120 is the first model of the UE-9000 family of products and is capable of encoding two MPEG-2 channels simultaneously, resulting in reduced power consumption and rack space.

The IVG-7000 is Scopus' grooming, multiplexing and rate-shaping platform. The IVG capabilities include video routing and processing, bit-rate reduction, IP networking and streaming, digital program insertion (DPI), video monitoring, built-in scrambling, and a simulcrypt conditional access interface.

The Scopus UID-2902 universal IP decoder is housed in a 1RU chassis and concurrently decodes two video programs and eight audio streams. Dual MPEG over IP inputs allow the UID-2902 to provide high availability by supporting both link redundancy and logical (source) redundancy and resuming normal operation in a split second. The UID-2902 is the first model of the Scopus UID-2900 family of multichannel IP decoders.
