AccuWeather releases next generation of FirstWarn ScreenCrawler

AccuWeather released an improved version of its FirstWarn ScreenCrawler at NAB2008.

FirstWarn ScreenCrawler now automatically displays National Weather Service storm-based (polygon) warnings, which are more accurate and location-specific than traditional countywide warnings.

The dedicated computer constantly ingests data from the NOAA Weather Wire and automatically generates and updates maps, crawls and logos as official bulletins are issued. The FirstWarn ScreenCrawler is a fully automated hands-off system that reduces support costs while operating flawlessly around the clock.

Users can quickly customize the communities that the system monitors as well as the types of weather statements, warnings, watches and advisories that it displays. Crawls may be in English or Spanish.
