CBS deploys Sencore's MRD3187 receiver/decoder to deliver news programming on location at Super Bowl XLIV

Sencore’s MRD3187 receiver/decoder was deployed by CBS for remote broadcasts of “The Early Show” and “CBS Weekend News” programs leading up to Super Bowl XLIV.
The MRD3187 — paired with the Fujitsu IP-9500 HD high-performance encoder — provided MPEG-4 AVC compressed, live HD feeds for the “CBS Weekend News” program from Sun Life Stadium in Miami to the CBS studios in New York. The feeds were then decoded back to HD baseband video for real-time editing before being recompressed for broadcast. The Sencore decoder and Fujitsu encoder were also responsible for the network's live news coverage while on location at Lummus Park in South Beach, FL.
