Clear Channel Outdoor, Cemusa form ink billboard advertising deal in Madrid

Clear Channel Outdoor entered an exclusive 10-year contract to operate billboards and street furniture advertising in Madrid, Spain. Cemusa, the outdoor advertising division of the Spain-based FCC Group, was also awarded a contract. The contract includes an option to renew for four additional years. The contracting company will be a 50-50 joint venture formed between Clear Channel Outdoor and Cemusa.
The contract provides for the installation and maintenance of approximately 600 advertising faces, including LED screens. The signage will be placed on municipal land and sport facility grounds. Italian architects Oscar Tusquets and Giorgetto Giugiaro provided street furniture designs. The joint venture has committed to use energy efficient and recyclable materials that will minimize the environmental impact of the displays.
