Crystal Vision adds three new features to aspect ratio converter

At IBC2008, Crystal Vision is showcasing three new features of its ARC-10MC 10-bit aspect ratio converter.
The new features make the ARC-10MC useful for some automation applications and provide an extra layer of security to protect the program output.
The new features include:
Video index detection and insertion allows users to auto-switch the board to bypass if the input is already in the required aspect ratio, which is determined from index data carried in the video as defined in SMPTE RP186.
Widescreen signaling (WSS) detection and insertion, which is based on the 625-line standard ETSI EN 300 294, allows the user to bypass the processing when the WSS indicates that the input is a specific shape.
Relay bypass protection, which is made available via a new RM43 frame rear module. Relay bypass protection helps maintain program output in the event of power failure or board removal.
