The OSi-Traffic traffic platform is ideally suited to DishHOME because it supports content from different sources simultaneously, such as satellite and fiber feeds.
EchoStar Communications has installed a broadcast inventory management and accounting software platform from Harris to manage ad sales commercial insertions and billing related to its interactive mosaic, DishHOME, Channel 100.
The DishHOME Mosaic, which is now using Harris’ OSi-Traffic traffic platform, consists of six on-screen video windows, each displaying what’s playing on a variety of channels at any moment. The windows can be refreshed regularly with six new programming offerings. During transition breaks between programming changes, commercials play on all six windows. Additional advertising can be displayed on DishHOME in the upper-right corner of the screen in the form of a video banner. The bottom portion of the screen shows a scrolling ticker that can also contain promotional or advertising information.
The OSi-Traffic platform gives broadcasters the ability to manage multiple channels more efficiently. The application is ideally suited to DishHOME because it supports content from different sources simultaneously, such as satellite and fiber feeds.
