Rock tour employs SD/HD switchers for projection, archiving

FOR-A’s HANABI HVS-3800HS SD/HD switcher is being used in Rod Stewart’s performances for image projection onto four Barco screens and to record shows for archive purposes.
The extensive visuals common to live music productions demand robust switching capabilities — the ability to power a variety of monitors and projections from a variety of live and stored inputs.
Cahuenga Rue Productions, the concert production company handling rock musician Rod Stewart’s 2007 World Tour, is using FOR-A’s HHVS-3800HS SD/HD switchers during the show for image projection onto four Barco screens and to record the show for archive purposes. This show uses five manned Sony cameras, two Sony robotic cameras and a Doremi HD disk recorder/player.
The HVS-3800HS switcher has 16 standard inputs and can be optionally configured with up to 28 inputs. The Rod Steward shows also use the switcher’s still store feature. Up to four still images can be loaded from the built-in Compact Flash card reader and used as additional inputs.
The 2007 tour encompasses performances in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and runs until the end of this month.
