Saudi Television has placed a significant order for products spanning the Harris HD product portfolio to equip new HD production and playout facilities in the Saudi Arabian cities of Medinah and Qassim, according to Harris.
The order includes multiple NEXIO XS SD/HD server platforms; VelocityNX HD promotions craft editors; an Inscriber CG system and still store; and X75 multipath converter/synchronizers.
NEXIO XS is a line of HD/SD transmission servers with integrated, software-based codec technology and software-driven up/down/crossconversion. The servers connect to the NEXIO storage area network (SAN), providing broadcasters with a streamlined infrastructure for producing, processing, distributing and managing SD and HD content.
