Bridge Technologies will provide its VideoBRIDGE system for monitoring for Virgin Media's digital broadcast TV platform.

Virgin Media will roll out an all-IP broadcast installation at its 54 headends and four core IP sites to complement its existing VOD IP infrastructure. Bridge Technologies will provide the VideoBRIDGE IP probes, servers and software to ensure comprehensive continuous remote monitoring and fault analysis throughout Virgin Media's broadcast TV IP infrastructure.

"An advanced monitoring solution is a very important part of our evolving infrastructure," said Alistair Crook, head of TV operations at Virgin Media. "The VideoBRIDGE system is one of the most advanced systems, and Bridge Technologies really understood our priorities. Many of the developments they have in the pipeline matched our requirements, and the alarm monitoring tool also significantly added to what we were looking for."

Bridge Technologies' VideoBRIDGE series of probes is an industrial platform for converging services employing stream-based IP packets. Compatible with all major stream-based industrial standards such as MPEG-2, H.264/AVC and DVB/ATSC ETSI TR 101 290, the VideoBRIDGE series offers a complete end-to-end system for the continuous quality assurance of a network.
