At the upcoming SATCON conference and Expo in New York, Wegener will spotlight a number of options to facilitate bandwidth savings strategies for commercial and private networks. This includes tight integration of file-based broadcasting, DVB-S2 and MPEG-4 technologies.
Among the products on display, Wegener will promote the versatility of its COMPEL control system, which supports multiple applications and networks simultaneously. Most of the company’s products target content delivery over satellite, fiber and hybrid networks.
The new product line includes the iPump 6400, iPump 6420 and iPump 562 media servers; COMPEL Network Control and COMPEL conditional access software, for dynamic command, monitoring and addressing of multisite video, audio, and data networks. Also on hand will be the Unity 552 and Unity 4600 satellite media receivers, which now support next-generation DVB-S2 satellite demodulation as a standard feature.
Wegener recently signed a deal (worth $1.2 million) to deploy its new iPump 562 enterprise media server for a digital signage network serving hundreds of branches at a large bank. Additionally, the company recently expanded its longstanding business relationship with Muzak, which bases its satellite music distribution service on Wegener technology.
