Ascent Media Systems & Technology Services has signed a multiyear agreement with MTV's 24-hour college network mtvU to provide satellite technical support, including receive-site equipment installation and integration, program management, call center, field service and logistics services.
mtvU broadcasts to 750 campuses and more than 7.2 million college students in the United States. It can be seen in the dining areas, fitness centers, student lounges and dorm rooms of campuses throughout the country, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Ascent Media worked with MTV Networks to develop a plan to support mtvU's current needs and growth strategies. The antenna system at each mtvU location in the United States consists of one 1.2M Ku-band antenna, IRD, messaging computer, modulator and a display.
