BBC Northern Ireland's radio station has completed the first phase of its Orion Project, which will provide a fully integrated commissioning and scheduling system across its television and radio stations.
The system, which runs on SintecMedia's OnAir scheduling and management system, will be introduced across the BBC over the next six months and will facilitate communication across the organization, eliminate duplicate data entry and enable the broadcaster to leverage its assets.
BBC Northern Ireland will use OnAir's workflow engine to enable the broadcaster to design custom workflow processes, in order to create a single operational environment across all media channels. These workflow processes will allow stations to structure internal communications for improved efficiency and the flexibility to adapt readily to changing business demands.
