Cogeco Cable has selected TANDBERG Television’s OpenStream digital services platform as its back-office system. Cogeco Cable is one of Canada's largest MSOs with more than 400,000 digital subscribers in Quebec and Ontario. New consumer behaviors, combined with an explosion in video content, pose significant opportunities for Cogeco Cable to deliver a more personalized TV experience. OpenStream will integrate into Cogeco Cable's infrastructure to support current subscriber services such as VOD, subscription VOD and free on-demand. Using OpenStream, Cogeco Cable can enhance its subscriber relationships and expand on-demand services revenue while minimizing the deployment costs.

"We are committed to providing our subscribers with what they need to unlock a world of information and entertainment. We must constantly provide new and enhanced services to our subscribers for us to remain competitive," said Chris MacFarlane, VP of corporate engineering at Cogeco Cable. "We wanted a back-office system that could scale and grow with us. TANDBERG Television's OpenStream provided us with all the features we were seeking and more."

Cogeco Cable has targeted key features of TANDBERG Television's back-office system for immediate use, including the ability to create its own unique playlists and OpenStream's Interactive Catalog for highly scalable, real-time catalog navigation. The Emmy Award-winning OpenStream is the industry’s only complete on-demand platform based on open, published interfaces.
