Epson develops HD 1080p LCD panels for 3LCD projectors, projection TVs

Seiko Epson has completed development of its latest series of high-temperature polysilicon TFT LCD panels for use in three-panel front projectors and large-screen HDTV projection televisions for the home.

Development samples of the D5 series panels will ship this month. Production quantities will be available in May 2005. The new D5 panel is a 0.9in, 1080p model.
