EVS showcased the XT[2]-EditRec, a simple, efficient VTR replacement solution dedicated to linear editing, at NAB2008.

XT[2]-EditRec is the latest EVS multichannel disk recorder solution for linear and hybrid editing workflows. It combines advanced disk technology with VTR-like, field-proven solutions used in everyday broadcast applications. Built on an XT[2] production server, EditRec offers the recording, control and playback capabilities required for online editing of live sports and news programming.

Optimized for linear editing workflows, XT[2]-EditRec offers fast, easy control of any audio/video source from any standard linear editor. XT[2]-EditRec not only integrates all VTR functions (inserts, overwrite and assemble) but also offers unique tapeless capabilities, such as edit while recording, access to the entire EVS production network, non-destructive "preread" and instant ripple and undo functions.
