Extron introduces IPL T S1 Ethernet control interface

Extron Electronics has announced the IPL T S1 Ethernet Control Interface, the newest member of its IP Link Series. Designed for extending network capabilities to an A/V device using an existing RS-232 serial port, the IPL T S1 includes Extron IP Link technology, with an integrated Web server, Ethernet compatibility and e-mail capability.

The IP Link technology built into the IPL T S1 enables remote monitoring and troubleshooting of projectors, flat panel displays, switchers and other serially controlled products.

The IPL T S1 features a low profile, plenum-rated enclosure with one 9-pin D-sub serial port. In addition, it supports Extron's GlobalViewer software, a Web application with features including multiple room views, real-time device status, e-mail notification, theft alerts and event scheduling. The GlobalViewer can be viewed using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher from any computer with access to a network.
