The new HDR1 high-density distribution rack includes a new electrically isolated, 1RU six-position design for SMPTE hybrid fiber patching and distribution systems.
Gepco International is introducing an updated design of its original HDR distribution rack, called the HDR1 high-density distribution rack. It includes a new electrically isolated, 1RU six-position design and offers a compact, expandable solution for SMPTE hybrid fiber patching and distribution systems.
Commonly used for machine room patching of multiple camera positions to available CCU control units, up to six SMPTE 304M positions can be accommodated in a 1RU space, or up to 12 positions in a 2RU space (with two HDR1 units).
Each SMPTE 304M hybrid connector position of the HDR1 externally breaks out to separate ST fiber and electrical connectors on the rear of the chassis. This breakout format eliminates the need for the specialized tooling and labor required to directly terminate SMPTE 304M connectors.
On the new HDR1 all positions are electrically isolated by nonconductive connector mounts on the front while designation strips allow for custom user labeling and identification. It’s available with SMPTE 304M plug or socket connectors, and now comes in a standard modular frame that allows all configurations to be expanded up to six channels with optional expansion kit modules.
