The IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (IEEE-BTS) has announced the launch of the IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting. The event takes place April 6-7, 2006, in Las Vegas.
With the theme, "Mobile and handheld systems for entertainment on the go," this new IEEE-BTS Symposium will be co-located with the CTIA Wireless 2006 show and the IEEE Wireless Communications & Networking Conference (WCNC2006).
Recognizing the rapid convergence of broadcasting, consumer electronics, telecommunications and networking technologies to create new platforms for the broadband delivery of multimedia content, IEEE-BTS presented an all-day session on Mobile and Multimedia Broadcasting at its Annual Broadcast Symposium in October.
A Call for Papers is available on the IEEE BTS Web site, www.ieee.org/bts. Abstract submissions are due January 3.
