Iowa Public Television to host 11th annual Iowa DTV Symposium

The Iowa DTV Symposium draws media professionals from across the nation. Speakers will focus on current technical issues as well as digital content and industry trends.

William T. Hayes, director of engineering and technology, at Iowa Public Television, will discuss fully automated and integrated master control rooms for digital television.

Jerry Whitaker, vice president for standards development, at ATSC, will present an “ATSC Update: What's New in DTV”

John Shike, VP of marketing and channel management, at Snell & Wilcox, will discuss a “Broadcaster’s Guide to MXF— the New File Format for Video and Metadata.”

Additional presentations will address digital production operations center design and construction, 10Gb networking, P2 memory based acquisition in HD and compression fundamentals among other topics.
