Livewire Digital has introduced M-Link JATS, a new automated system that allows the efficient transfer of large media files between remote locations.
The new Java Automated Transfer System (JATS) software package allows broadcasters to transfer large files in minutes using optimized transfer protocols. JATS can be interoperated with Livewire Digital M-Link products.
JATS incorporates automatic retry and auto append if a network connection is unreliable. Alert messages, statistics reporting and easy accessible logging make it a capable, configurable and easy-to-use automated file transfer system.
Livewire Digital’s existing M-Link range of solutions enables the transfer of broadcast-quality video for newsgathering via satellite, mobile and IP networks.
The company also announced that Reuters, the news agency, has chosen to roll out Livewire’s M-Link Live professional broadcast system to complement its existing global newsgathering capability. This enables live reporting from the field to news bureaus over BGAN, 3G and IP.
In addition, the company said the Royal Navy has enhanced its fleet of capital ships with new Livewire technology. The transmitted content will be used for both internal purposes such as training and for interaction with the broadcast news channels.
Volvo Ocean Race has also chosen Livewire Digital to deliver and implement a new on-board HD broadcast system for the 2008-2009 race. Livewire Digital “Media Desk HD” is now being developed to capture the race in HD video for the first time.
