The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) is migrating to digital with help from Sundance Digital’s Titan automation system.
The upgrade will transition the statewide public television network from a legacy analog system to a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure with a multichannel master control.
OETA’s network includes full-power facilities in Tulsa, Cheyenne and Eufala, from its central facility. The on-air launch from OETA’s Oklahoma City headquarters is scheduled for Q3 2005.
The Sundance Digital system will drive a RAID-protected multichannel Omneon server, as well as Sony and Panasonic multiple format VTRs. In addition to Titan, OETA will install the company’s Intelli-Sat broadcast manager to schedule and record satellite feeds. Playlists of five channels, four DTV plus one mix of SD and HD, will fall under the control of Titan. Turnkey project services are being provided by SignaSys, a broadcast systems integration and consulting firm based in San Jose, CA.
Titan will also integrate tightly with OETA’s Traffic and PSIP interfaces.
