Rohde & Schwarz launches measurement server system

Rohde & Schwarz will launch its EFA-NET, a new measurement server system that introduces real-time and historical graphical/analytical reporting of broadcast transmitter and transmission information.

EFA-NET, to be demonstrated for the first time at NAB, enables both 8VSB digital and NTSC analog standards to be monitored in conjunction with the Rohde & Schwarz EFA test receiver. The system provides remote access via private LAN/WAN, Internet and wireless PDA devices.

EFA-NET can access key transmitter site parameters including real-time full-power VSWR monitoring through use of the ECHO Display. EFA-NET is SNMP-based, and will interface with any SNMP network management system. A multisite/multiuser Linux solution, the system integrates well with the remote central casting paradigm.

Rohde and Schwarz will also introduce a low-power UHF transmitters for digital TV — power range 10W to 200W. An automatic pre-correction option is available for all digital transmitters, including low, medium and high power both VHF and UHF.
