Ross Video has released v2.0 of the OverDrive live production control system. OverDrive is a Windows-based touch screen system designed to control all devices in a production environment. This latest version offers an Avid iNEWS interface based on the MOS protocol and several new features and controls allowing broadcasters to enhance their live productions. OverDrive gives broadcasters the ability to tailor staffing levels based on the production requirements of the show and deliver a more consistent product to viewers.

Version 2.0 offers users more features and control:

  • The Avid iNEWS MOS interface allows rundowns created in the NCS to be used in OverDrive. The interface allows for real-time changes in the NCS rundown to appear instantly in the OverDrive rundown. Included with the interface is an ActiveX plug-in for each NCS desktop that allows OverDrive device and effect templates to be inserted directly into the rundown.
  • Enhanced Custom Control Macro support, Icon Capture and multiple shots per story allow users to create complicated events and run them with ease.
  • Expanded device control includes the integration of CGs, VTRs, routers and server clip names.
  • Additional device GUI for robotic cameras and enhancements to audio control.
