Scopus provides live coverage of Palestinian Authority elections via Palmedia and SatLink Communication

Scopus Video Networks' IP-based platforms provided live event coverage of the Palestinian Authority elections.

For this occasion, SatLink Communications and Palmedia, the exclusive providers of video transmission over hybrid fiber and satellite connectivity from the Palestinian authority to worldwide media operators, deployed Scopus VoIP platforms to transmit live content over IP local infrastructure and internationally via satellite networks.

Using Scopus' encoders and decoders, SatLink and Palmedia brought live election coverage over IP connectivity from media centers in major Palestinian cities to local production houses and internationally via satellite to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America.

Scopus' ability to provide locally originated content over IP-based contribution infrastructure for live event coverage, combined with satellite technology, makes this installation one of the world's first instances where these technologies have been merged. Emergence of this hybrid system enables satellite operators to reduce operating costs and bring broadcast quality into the IP world.
