Scripps takes GAC, HGTV HD, and Food Network HD channels live on OmniBus automation

Scripps Networks has taken GAC, HGTV HD and Food Network HD channels live using its new OmniBus Systems Colossus automation package, which was recently installed at the network's Knoxville, TN, broadcast headquarters. Scripps launched HGTV HD in April, GAC in the middle of June and Food Network HD on June 30. And the network plans to shift the rest of its seven networks onto OmniBus automation by the end of the year.

The OmniBus automation system installed at Scripps controls a video server system and a hierarchical storage management archiving system. In addition to facilitating the migration and launch of the network's existing and new channels, both SD and HD, the OmniBus-based playout infrastructure provides flexibility and scalability to accommodate future expansion of Scripps' network offerings.

More information about OmniBus Systems is available at www.omnibus.tv.
