SMART Technologies demonstrates interactive overlay device at Digital Retailing Expo

Attendees at Digital Retailing Expo use SMART’s interactive overlay, mounted on a 50in display and powered by Scala software, to find exhibitor booth locations.

Attendees at last month’s Digital Retailing Expo in San Francisco were able to see first-hand the usefulness of a new solution from SMART Technologies that converts plasma and LCD displays into interactive touch screens.

The trade show’s 50in interactive way-finding station provided an attract loop as well as an interactive display – powered by Scala software with custom content for the show. Attendees could find an exhibitors' booth location using a show floor map or by selecting an exhibitor from the list, which then lit up the corresponding booth location on the floor plan.

SMART’s overlay technology can mount onto more than 17 brands of flat-panel displays, in screen sizes ranging from 37- to 63in, transforming screens into kiosks. The durable, anti-glare touch screen is scratch- and chemical-resistant to protect the display panel while providing interactive control of a variety of computer and multimedia devices.
