Snell & Wilcox at NAB2006 will launch six new compact converters, offering a range of options including comprehensive audio handling and DV interfaces.
Part of the company's Kudos Plus range, the converters are small enough for a flyaway pack or a crowded desktop. The ½-rack-unit Kudos Plus products perform signal stabilization and standards conversion on nearly any type of video for applications ranging from backhaul monitoring and remote newsgathering to dubbing and duplication.
Each of the CVR standards converter/synchronizer family is equipped to handle embedded audio while giving users a choice of three external audio I/O options: professional balanced analog, balanced AES or unbalanced AES. Three of the new products include a FireWire interface for DV input or output. All six feature composite, SDI, and Y/C video inputs and outputs.
The new range also includes noise reduction and signal enhancement. These new standards converters are provided with a range of preset aspect ratio conversions and can be used as a space-saving, stand-alone solution for aspect ratio conversion applications.
