Sylicone prepares for HD emphasis in new post-production studios

Sylicone, a post-production facility located in France, is jumping on the HD bandwagon. HD is a critical part of its roadmap for growth – the company recently opened a third Paris location – so it is leaving no stone unturned in creating top-notch HD graphics.

For example, the company installed a 2K-color enhancement suite from da Vinci Systems to provide broadcasting clients with a real-time color grading option. Producers will use the system for television projects, commercials, musical events such as classical concerts and operas, and documentary programming like "Ushuaia," a series broadcast on French television channel TF1.

Da Vinci's 2K color enhancement system is a real-time, multiple-standard, multiple-resolution image processor that can color grade in SD, HDTV and HD. Features include up to nine power windows; primary and secondary processing in all resolutions; super kilovectors with hue, saturation and luminance (HSL) qualifiers; a gallery image server; key channels; and advanced chroma filtering.
