Telecast Fiber rolls out Viper II SW6031 HD camera switch

Apr 12, 2007 5:06 PM

Telecast Fiber Systems has introduced the new Viper II SW6031 module for switching among SMPTE hybrid camera cables, triax adapters and fiber media.

The new module is capable of switching among three different HD camera cabling configurations from inside the studio or OB truck without requiring a re-patch at an outside-access I/O panel.

The SW6031 provides complete switching control of both the optical and copper signals present on a SMPTE 911M cable. Positioned between the camera control unit (CCU) and the truck I/O panel, it gives operators control and command of their HD cameras in the field. The integrated optical power meter and onboard status display provide instant feedback on system operation.

The integrated SHED (SMPTE Hybrid Elimination Device) permits switching to ordinary single-mode fiber cable ports on the I/O panel.
