Thales previews NAB product releases

Thales will demonstrate a variety of new solutions at NAB2005. The company will offer DTV broadcast stations MPEG transport stream monitoring and redundancy solutions that eliminate single point failures. These MPEG transport stream can also be used for encoder upgrade options to make the best use of the full 19.4Mb/s bandwidth. Thales will offer network operators full solutions to manage digital content over any network infrastructure.

The booth will feature equipment demonstrations for MPEG content creation, delivery, and adaptation for regional modification. Multimedia products will include:

  • Content regionalization – Thales will demonstrate advances in compressed content regionalization, including digital program insertion (DPI) for ad/logo insertions.
  • Mobile media – The latest technology incorporating DVB-H broadcasting to mobile/handheld devices, including content creation, packing, distribution and RF transmission will be featured.
  • SmartCast – An MPEG encoding/multiplex platform with integrated MPEG transport stream monitoring and redundancy management.
  • SmartVision TV – Video over broadband service platform for live, VOD, iTV and other forms of multimedia content delivery over xDSL, FTTx, Power Line, or Wireless communication networks.
