WiNetworks spotlights mobile WiMAX equipment for DBS, DVB-T operators

Sep 6, 2007 12:16 PM

WiNetworks is showing its full line of mobile WiMAX 802.16e equipment specially designed for the digital broadcast operator at IBC2007.

The Win-Max family of equipment includes a compact base station, and client premise equipment, that allows DBS and DVB-T operators to build a complementary 802.16e mobile WiMAX-based wireless network.

WiNetworks’ hybrid DVB/WiMAX technology reuses the existing infrastructure of installed dish, coax and set-top boxes. Broadcast operators can reduce churn and increase competitiveness by adding triple-play and mobile services over a single bill.

The Win-Max compact base station uses mobile 802.16e WiMAX technology to enable new revenue sources from mobile wireless applications while integrating with the existing infrastructures of one-way broadcast operators, broadcast satellite and cable operators.
