WRCB, the NBC affiliate serving parts of Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee, has installed a Quantel Newsbox system for its daily news production.
The WRCB news system comprises eight sQ Cut journalist workstations, two sQ Edit seats for craft editors and an eQ multiresolution editing, visual effects and color correction system, which produces promos. The station’s existing Picturebox will also continue to be used.
Quantel’s Newsbox has all the tools that are needed to ingest material, view rushes, choose crucial shots, edit stories, review finished pieces and play them to air. Its common user interface and toolset are exactly the same as all the sQ systems from Quantel.
The Newsbox system is now available in either SD or HD. SD systems are HD upgradeable.
